Science - Femininity and Masculinity in Plants
The understanding of gender differentiation in plants did not emerge until the 17th century. It was then that the realization dawned that male flowers generate pollen, which is subsequently received by female flowers through various means like insect pollination or wind dispersal. Interestingly, certain flowers possess both male and female reproductive organs, enabling them to self-pollinate. Recent scientific breakthroughs have revealed that the very first flower to bloom on this planet approximately 140 million years ago possessed both male and female reproductive parts.

Qur'an stated this fact more than 1400 years ago!
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مَهْدًا وَسَلَكَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًا وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزْوَٰجًا مِّن نَّبَاتٍ شَتَّىٰ
"He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky."
With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 20:53
وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍ
And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm,
and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)- 50:7
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى مَدَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنْهَـٰرًا وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ جَعَلَ فِيهَا زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ يُغْشِى
ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
And it is He who spread out the earth, and set thereon mountains standing firm and (flowing) rivers: and fruit of every kind He made in pairs, two and two: He draws the night as a veil o'er the Day. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who consider! 13:3
